Find all the G# notes (major third of E) between frets 9-12. Play ascending runs from any pentatonic note to these G# targets. Each run should be 4-6 notes ending on G#. Focus on the bright, optimistic sound of landing on the third.
Tip: The major third gives that 'smile' to your phrases. It's the difference between sad and happy in music.
