Play only the 3rd and 7th of each chord: F major (A-E), then C7 (E-Bb). Practice this two-note movement on strings 3-2 around the 5th fret area. Notice how the E note stays constant while A moves down to Bb.
Tip: The 3rd and 7th define a chord's character. Master these before adding other notes.
