Play a singable melody in groups of 3 notes while keeping time in 4/4. Your melody should flow in triplet phrases that weave in and out of the beat, but each phrase must end on a strong chord tone that locks back into the groove. Create a 16-bar form where the melody resolves perfectly despite the rhythmic complexity.
Tip: Complex rhythms become natural when the melody is strong enough. Trust the song more than the math - if you can sing it, you can make it work.
