Em-A-D Approach Tones

Before each chord change, play the note one semitone above the target chord's third. Em (G#→G), A (C#→C# hold), D (G→F#). Use this chromatic approach on the off-beat before each chord hits. Practice with a metronome at 90 BPM.

Tip: Approach tones create tension that makes the resolution more satisfying. Jazz players use this constantly.
