In position 1 of G pentatonic, play only B notes (the major third). Find all B notes within the box: 5th string 2nd fret, 4th string 4th fret, 2nd string 5th fret. Play each one twice, then connect them with one passing tone each.
Tip: The major third gives pentatonic its happy sound. These B notes are your smile notes in the key of G.
