In F# pentatonic position 1, play only on strings 6, 4, and 2 - skip string 5 and 3 completely. Create a 8-note phrase that sounds complete despite the missing strings. Focus on the wider intervals.
Tip: String skipping forces you out of scalar thinking. The wider intervals sound more like harmony than single notes.
