Stay on the 3rd string only. Start on D (7th fret) and create a 8-beat melody using only D, E, F#, A notes. Think like you're humming - include held notes and natural pauses. No technical runs allowed.
Tip: If you can't hum it, don't play it. Your melody should be simple enough that someone could sing along immediately.
