Play phrases where you approach each chord tone from a specific interval: approach Db from a fourth above (Gb), approach F from a half-step below (E natural), approach Ab from a whole step above (Bb). Your ear must predict and execute these approaches without looking.
Tip: Different approach intervals create different emotional effects. A half-step approach feels urgent, while a fourth approach feels more open and spacious.
