Off-Beat E Approach

Play E pentatonic notes only on the 'and' of each beat in 4/4 time. Start with G note (3rd fret, 6th string) on the 'and of 1', then continue with any pentatonic notes on off-beats only.

Tip: Playing off-beats feels like leaning forward. Let gravity pull you into the next downbeat.
