Play Ab pentatonic notes on beats 1 and 3 normally. On beats 2 and 4, play the same frets but mute with your palm for ghost notes. Keep the picking motion identical - only the muting changes the sound.
Tip: Ghost notes aren't silent - they're rhythmic punctuation. They make the real notes sound more important.
