Add the major 7th (G#) to your A pentatonic vocabulary. In position 2, practice phrases that approach G# from above and below. Each phrase should be 6-8 notes, always resolving to A after hitting G#. The G# creates tension that wants to resolve up.
Tip: The major 7th is sophisticated tension. It's like being on the edge of a cliff - beautiful view, but you want to step back to safety (the root).
