Play flowing 8th note passages but land on strong beats only on C major chord tones (C-E-G). Between these anchor points, use passing tones and approach notes. Create 3 different phrases, each 2 measures long, all ending on different chord tones but feeling complete.
Tip: Chord tones are home base - you can wander anywhere as long as you land safely. The journey between chord tones is where personality lives.
