Play A major chord tones (A-C#-E) only, but never on adjacent strings or frets. Each note must be at least 4 frets or 2 strings away from the previous. Create an 8-beat phrase using swing eighth notes.
Tip: Chord tones always work. Wide intervals between them create sophisticated voice leading.
