Navigate C-Am-Dm-G using smooth voice leading. Start with C triad (notes C-E-G) around 8th fret. Move to Am by keeping C as common tone, shifting E down to A (7th fret, 4th string). Continue to Dm keeping A, move G to D. End on G7 by keeping D, add F.
Tip: Common tones are bridges between chords. Find what stays the same, then move what must change.
