Choose a Bb major chord (Bb-D-F). Play ascending pentatonic runs but pause and hold any time you hit Bb, D, or F. Skip past C, Eb, and G quickly. Your phrases should sound like they're highlighting the chord underneath.
Tip: Non-chord tones are stepping stones, chord tones are destinations. Learn to hear the difference in stability.
