Play ascending D pentatonic scales but pause and hold every F# (major third) for 2 beats. Find all F#'s across positions 1 and 2: fret 2 (1st string), fret 7 (2nd string), fret 9 (4th string), fret 14 (6th string).
Tip: F# gives D major its happy character. Train your ear to recognize this brightness before your fingers find it.
