Charleston Shuffle in G

Use G major pentatonic: G-A-B-D-E. Play the Charleston rhythm: long-short-long-short (like 'CHAR-les-TON-dance'). Accent beats 1 and 3 with G notes, syncopate beats 2 and 4 with any other scale tones. Maintain this for 8 measures straight.

Tip: Charleston rhythm teaches your hands to think in rhythmic patterns, not just note patterns.
