Play Bbm7-A7-AbMaj7 (ii-bII7-I with tritone sub). Connect Bbm7's F to A7's G (guide tone line), then G resolves to Ab. Practice this with syncopated rhythm: Bbm7 on beat 1, A7 on the 'and' of 2, AbMaj7 on 3.
Tip: Tritone subs work because the guide tones (3rd and 7th) are the same, just flipped. The bass moves, the harmony doesn't.
